best baby books II...

Within the span of a couple of weeks, Cy grows more and more, and it's not just his body that grows. Every week he gets a new favorite animal, stuffed toy or book. So I am listing more best baby books. These are some of his favorites now...

the very hungry caterpillar...

It's easy to see why this book is celebrating 40 years of entertaining kids. Cy loves the little holes in the pages and is absolutely delighted when the big fat caterpillar becomes a beautiful butterfly. We also have a pop-up version of the book which is AMAZING. Definitely a book that every child should own.

in the town...This book is awesome. And Cy just LOVES it. Every page has heaps of different colorful flaps with silhouettes of everyday objects. Underneath is the apple/tree/car etc and the word written in big bold letters. It is so educational and fun, the only downside is Cy can't read it by himself because he is not at the age where he can be gentle enough with the pages. And when you read it to him, he sometimes goes into a flap lifting mania, and tries to open them all really quickly.

little blue...

Cy got this book for his first birthday (thank you Morgan and Lesley). It is a beautiful story with gorgeous illustrations and a lovely ending. It's the type of book that is calming and relaxing for Cy (and me), and every time we read it makes a sweet memory.

i can fly...

This is another Little Golden book. You can't beat them, they have such classic, simple books and this is another great one. Cy loves all the different animals and gets excited every time you turn the page. And it's cool how the little girl looks like the animals. :P The rhyming is almost hypnotic for him too. :)

wombat stew...

Cy runs and grabs this book all by himself quite often. He is so excited when you open the cover and pretty much waits for the page with the blue tongue. Then he hisses like a crazy person. :) It's very cute. He went through a couple of days when he was a bit worried about the look on the dingo's face when he drinks the stew, but that was pretty quickly quashed by the prospect of reading it all over again. Definitely one of his all time favorites.
