just finished...

The latest from the incredible mind of Stephen King. It's cover reads "his biggest and most riveting novel since The Stand."
And it is good, very good. The amount of characters this book introduces you to is overwhelming. Each new chapter (or mini-chapter) is from the point of view from a different one each time and it is surprising how easy it is to pick right up where that characters last chapter ended, while keeping track of every other persons story, and lives as well.
The story unfolds with the same awesome twists and turns that Stephen King is famous for, as well as it being kind of heartwarming at times it can be quite gruesome and brutal (so maybe not recommended for you Lesley :P .) But all in all it was a great book to be reading but so hard to put down. DEFINITELY worth a read.

a little something special...

You know when you get photos printed out on the machines in Big W/Harvey Norman/Camera shop etc, and they give you those little sheets of tiny photos like a little photo inventory? I love those little things! Every time I get any photos printed I make sure I get that inventory sheet. My husband says each and every time..."Why do you need that? It's nothing, you've already got the photos. It's just their way of scamming an extra couple of cents off you." Well I just smile and sigh. I know what I want it for....I have been hoarding those tiny photos and using them to make a collage on the inside lid of Cy's baby box. And with more and more photos being printed off, the box will slowly get covered in hundreds of tiny little photos of Cy. It will be something interesting for him to look at when he's older along with all the other keepsakes.

because they are funky...

Bernie: You're not doing it right! I told you!
Ernie: I'm doing it!
Bernie: X, circle, X X, double left square, right trigger down, square, square.
Ernie: Oh, double square! Respect!
Bernie: Respect!

good times...

Today was an awesome day! Cy's birthday party went smoothly as ever with no tears or tantrums to be seen. He had so much fun hanging out with all the friends and relatives. He got some truly awesome, sweet, thoughtful & fun presents. And the pool party cake was a huge success. :) It was so good to have everyone there together (including the birthday boy) having a good time. There's nothing like relaxing with a bunch of awesome people celebrating something truly special.

busy busy busy...

Alright, so it's the big day tomorrow...my son's 1st birthday. So what am I doing? Running around like a madman trying to get everything finished on time...of course!! So far the list of things I have to do is....Finish the doll I was making as a birthday present, Make 2 cakes (a decorative one and one for him to get all cakey), set up all the decorations, and do last minute checkups on some friends who I haven't heard from yet..(not pointing any fingers...RACHEL!!) All the while trying to clean the house and keep the birthday boy himself happy and healthy.
So.....I hear you....what am I doing on the computer typing away???.......
I'm multitasking dammit.

another year...

I know your probably getting this from everyone you talk to, but HAPPY NEW YEAR!! After all it only comes once a year so sit back and enjoy it. Instead of making those silly little new years resolutions (you know the ones....I'll lose weight, I'll stop smoking, I'll meet somebody new) just get a nice cold drink, put your feet up and reflect on all the good things that happened in the past year. And if you had a really crappy year....then think about how lucky you are to make it to another new year...after all you didn't get hit by a car, or eaten by a shark, or killed in a plane crash, or kicked by a donkey............
