Okaaayyyy. So once I found this site, I just spent an hour shuffling through pages wanting to own almost everything I saw. But I settled on these...I will buy them all....one day.

I have found it, that little bit of sunshine and happiness that you sometimes need when you're having one of those days.

emotion is an amazing thing...

Well, we went to the video store the other night, and because I absolutely LOVE Stephen King books and movies, I bought Pet Sematary. Now I read the book (for the 4th time) a couple of months ago, so I should know the story line. But nothing prepared me for the flood of emotion that swept through me in the first 5 mins of the movie.

If you want to read the book/watch the movie look away now, or I'm just about to spoil it for you.

Basically there's a man, his wife, young daughter and a cute little boy. The boy is the same age as Cy is now. They move into a house right by a busy road that lots of BIG trucks use all hours of the day and night. Well the little boy gets hit by a truck and killed.

I didn't even get to that stage, I saw the opening sequence of the movie where the baby is toddling around the yard nakey except for a nappy and stops a meter from the road to wave (in that cute little floppy arm way) at a massive truck as it plows down the road so fast you can see the bub's lovely little curls flying around in the breeze.

I turned it off. I physically cannot watch it, and I don't think I will be able to until Cy is 6 years old. Maybe not even then.....

damn infomercials...

Just as I was writing my very last post, something amazing appeared on my TV screen. And just like the Miche Bag, I MUST have it. Although this one I actually will buy. It is actually a very practical object to own. It's called the Slap Chop.

It's pretty much like the Magic Bullet only not electrical and not as pricey. Just by putting the Slap Chop over the top of your vegetables/fruit etc and pushing down the handle on the top, you can easily slice and dice into whatever size you want. AND it comes with a GRATY. Similar to the Slap Chop but you put your cheese/carrot etc into the GRATY and twist the top and it easily grates it. You can buy them on eBay for $20. So this is one TV infomercial product that I will indeed buy.

best baby books II...

Within the span of a couple of weeks, Cy grows more and more, and it's not just his body that grows. Every week he gets a new favorite animal, stuffed toy or book. So I am listing more best baby books. These are some of his favorites now...

the very hungry caterpillar...

It's easy to see why this book is celebrating 40 years of entertaining kids. Cy loves the little holes in the pages and is absolutely delighted when the big fat caterpillar becomes a beautiful butterfly. We also have a pop-up version of the book which is AMAZING. Definitely a book that every child should own.

in the town...This book is awesome. And Cy just LOVES it. Every page has heaps of different colorful flaps with silhouettes of everyday objects. Underneath is the apple/tree/car etc and the word written in big bold letters. It is so educational and fun, the only downside is Cy can't read it by himself because he is not at the age where he can be gentle enough with the pages. And when you read it to him, he sometimes goes into a flap lifting mania, and tries to open them all really quickly.

little blue...

Cy got this book for his first birthday (thank you Morgan and Lesley). It is a beautiful story with gorgeous illustrations and a lovely ending. It's the type of book that is calming and relaxing for Cy (and me), and every time we read it makes a sweet memory.

i can fly...

This is another Little Golden book. You can't beat them, they have such classic, simple books and this is another great one. Cy loves all the different animals and gets excited every time you turn the page. And it's cool how the little girl looks like the animals. :P The rhyming is almost hypnotic for him too. :)

wombat stew...

Cy runs and grabs this book all by himself quite often. He is so excited when you open the cover and pretty much waits for the page with the blue tongue. Then he hisses like a crazy person. :) It's very cute. He went through a couple of days when he was a bit worried about the look on the dingo's face when he drinks the stew, but that was pretty quickly quashed by the prospect of reading it all over again. Definitely one of his all time favorites.

yes again...

I have changed it again, I figure there is so many changes going on in my life right now I might as well give it another go. :P
Like it?

we need to talk...

So....House, I think it's time we had a talk. This isn't easy for me but... it's time to say goodbye. I will miss you old house. All the times we have had together..... Like when we first moved in years ago, we spent our first night in a bare loungeroom eating Mediterranean take-out. And when we brought our first puppy home to your huge backyard. Or what about the time the massive hail hit, you sheltered me with your walls, and windows that were so strong they didn't even break. Or when I stood in your kitchen and realized I was in labour. And I even bought my very first baby home to you. You've endured all the laughter, tears, arguments and love. You've watched us grow from a young reckless couple to a young happy family. Now you get to see it all again. Just with someone else.
There will always be a soft spot for you in our hearts house, and we'll never forget you.

so constructive...

Well I've found a site that you can waste hours and hours (if you have hours to waste. :P) But either way, give it a go, it's fun. :D

And I also noticed for the first time, that in the right pose/lighting I kinda look like Barbra Streisand and I freaked myself out...

damn you australia post...

So I've been buying some stuff on eBay and so far (apart from one seller who had a bit of a mix up with my payment) the results have been fantastic. Unfortunately I can't say the same for Australia Post. I was expecting a package this week and I was home every day looking after Cy and cleaning until yesterday when I had to go to Tamworth for the day. I was worried that the package would come when I wasn't home and they would just leave it there, after all it could be taken!
My husband reassured me that if it came they would knock on the door and if no-one answered they would leave a note to say to pick it up at the post office. Since they had done this before, I thought that was probably the case. So we set off early in the morning and had a lovely day (except for when the car broke down again). We came home at about 6pm and it was drizzling so I unloaded the groceries while Ben got Cy.
I was walking up the steps when I spotted something on the ground about a meter away from the door. My parcel. Sitting out in the rain. And of course I had no idea when it had arrived but when I opened it, I got a hint. The stuff inside was damp. All in all I am not impressed.
